VALIDATION PROCESS

The existing in vivo data is re-used within the following validation:

Prediction of lung inflammatory phases calibrated and validated against the excessive influx of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs) up to half a year after exposure

database used in validation

In vivo instillation data from the largest nanotox database compiled by our research partner prof. Ulla Vogel (NRCWE, Copenhagen, Denmark) throughout several EU projects (SmartNanoTox, NanoMile, NanoReg, CaLIBRAte, HARMLESS) is used as database in validation.

For calibration, we use 35 materials of different families: metal oxides (Si, Ti, Al, Zn, Fe etc.), carbonatious nanomaterial (incl. carbon nanotubes, graphene, printex), alloys, ceramics, and clays.
